SERVICES

The Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center accepts referrals from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), law enforcement agencies, and other sources as approved by the Executive Director.

Referrals are accepted based on the following criteria:

  • children birth to age 18
  • ongoing investigation of child sexual abuse and/or serious physical abuse
  • child lives in Perry or Jackson County
  • abuse occurred in Perry or Jackson County and the child lives in a surrounding county

All services provided to children and their non-offending family members is free of charge.  The Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center provides the following services to victims and their non-offending family members:

  • transportation to specialized medical examinations
  • linkage to mental health resources
  • coordination with the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) regarding the investigation and services provided
  • accompaniment to court hearings/trials or attendance in their place
  • linkage to any community resources available
  • court preparation for victim
  • child friendly facility and trained professional to conduct forensic interviews
  • help with Crime Victims Comensation forms
  • registration with Automated Victim Notification System

Other services are also provided by the Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center to the communities of both Perry and Jackson County:

  • personal safety curriculum to students in Pre-K through 3rd grades
  • presentations to clubs, churches, organizations, etc. regarding the center, child abuse, or any topic related to child abuse
  • free events for the community as necessary
  • participation in other agency's free community events
